Two Pints Of Lager & A Packet Of Crisps features the sex-fuelled lives of five late-teens/early twenty-somethings in the northern town of Runcorn. Janet is going out with Jonny, his best friend Gaz has started to date Janet's best friend Donna, and self-centred student Louise just wants a job to keep her in cigarettes. There's also Donna's sarcastic mother, Flo, constantly nagging her daughter to take up a 'proper' relationship with a worthy young man. Storylines followed the on-again/off-again relationships of the young protagonists who have lots of sex and meet in pubs. After the first series the show was initially broadcast on BBC Choice and its successor BBC3. The second series was shown by terrestrial BBC2 from 12 August to 16 September 2002, the third from 7 July to 15 September 2003, the musical special on 10 May 2004 and the fourth series from 17 May to 19 July 2004. The show's title was inspired by the 1980 hit single 'Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps Please' by "Splodgenessabounds".

Thank goodness there is someone who can write humour. I find the reviews bad mouthing this set a little sad, and anyone who holds up 'Friends' as an example of humour is obviously a very mainstream person. This is not mainstream, its not for kids (as Blackadder, however funny, could be enjoyed by them as well), its not about white middle class men and women as was The Office and its not american like Scrubs. Its British, its Northern and I think i must be missing something here, its not toilet humour or I didn't think so. Its not like Bottom or the Young Ones.
The characters are well drawn, especially Donna's. I'd love to see that actress in other things. There is no need to 'play it humourously' It isn't meant to be so set up as 'My Family' or those of that genre. The laughs are almost unintentional, you don't know you are going to laugh and then you find yourself laughing out loud. Its not for a lot of people, those with an oversimplistic sense of humour perhaps, those who like white Southern humour or slick American, but it is funny. And if you like it you love it, and if you don't, just don't buy this boxed set. Easy.

This show is just fab. Full stop. Although others may say that its tasteless, or hasnt got a story line, youre so wrong! Youve all obviously lost touch with your childhood, or maybe just a tad too snobbish to understand why its funny.
I mean, they are 5, fairly poor, twentysomethings that go to the bed, its hardly going to be a top notch laugh fest, with line after line of amazing jokes.
Its just plain funny, and if youre feeling down, its perfect to watch! It makes me smile and laugh out loud whenever i see it!
Im currently bidding for this DVD, and cannot wait to watch the episodes i havnt seen, and watch the best [When janet met jonny & when janet killed jonny] again!
i think all you who poopoo this TV show just because it isnt as funny as...cough...'friends', you should try lighten up a little, and get back to roots with the side of you that doesnt care about anything, just like these guys dont!

This is british comedy at its best, they've taken everything fun out of the Americen youth comedy and made it realistic and have also added on the excellance of british jokes.
This is worth the buy even if you only watch the music special which nobody can deny is very original.
I can only say buy.

Two Pints
A great box set of one of my favorite comedy programmes. Would have liked all nine series in one set but settled for this and bought 7, 8, and 9 seperately.

dvd boxset
Amazon came up cheapest for this boxset and had no problems with delivery so i would recomend this product if your a fan.
