4.0 out of 5 stars a movie packed with humour and emotion 21 July 2006
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Two Ninas is a mixture of the serious and humorous. It is set in New York and is about a man called Marty(Ron Livingston) - an aspiring novelist - who starts out going through a drought,in dating terms, and then finds himself dating two beautiful women, both called Nina (played by Cara Buono and Amanda Peet),at the same time.Marty's friend,Dave(Bray Poor),who is usually more successful than Marty with women, recounts the tale, from a seat in his local bar. This was a really entertaining film with believable characters that I could relate to people I know,or have known,in real life. And,as in so many movies,New York makes a wonderful visual setting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Five Stars For Two Ninas 15 Sep 2010
Format:DVD
This is an absolute gem of a film which loses nothing on repeated viewings. A fine cast who are attractive without being Hollywood glamour types give uniformly well-rounded performances, with Bray Poor the obvious standout. The dialogue is clever yet believable - articulate and earthy. The two Ninas are both gorgeous in their own individual ways (as is the bartender). The plot is nicely paced with no real surprises which allows the audience to concentrate on the characters. The only false note is the character of the literary agent who could have easily been dispensed with. But that's a minor quibble. Everything else about the film is marvellous - a small movie with a great big heart.

2.0 out of 5 stars Morally off centre to say the least! 26 Jan 2012
Format:DVD
I couldn't help feeling disgusted throughout this film. We are meant to root for a man who is selfish, pathetic, neurotic and blatantly and shamelessly deceives and betrays two women he is meant to care for. He arbitrarily makes a decision on which woman to settle for and we are meant to cheer him on as the poor woman forgives him. He appears to learn nothing much from his experiences. This film is unfunny, the plot is predictable and the characters are unlikeable. To be avoided.
