The kings of Italian cuisine Antonio Carluccio and Gennaro Contaldo return to Italy together to remember their own pasts and discover how the culinary capital of the world is changing the way it cooks and eats. Travelling to different Italian regions, they uncover a changed Italy in some areas and a fiercely traditional, mostly untouched world in others.
In each of the four hour-long episodes, Carluccio and Contaldo will create dishes using recipes, ingredients and influences they discover along their gastronomic journey as well as some of their own favourite traditional meals.
The journey is distinctly personal, drawing upon Antonio and Gennaro's upbringing in Italy through their memories and anecdotes, whilst reflecting their sometimes fractious, often hilarious relationship.
INCLUDES 4 RECIPE CARDS - Taken from the accompanying book, so you can cook along at home.

Absolutely fantastic.....cannot wait for series 2 to come out on DVD.Extremely refreshing approach with Antonio and Genaro sharing their family stories making this , in my eyes , some of the finest and most enthralling TV in many years.

If you have seen the series on BBC you would be familiar with this show. Two renowned chefs take a tour of some of Italy's most beautiful and interesting places sampling a lot of the local cuisine, as well as cooking some of their own interpretations.
The recipes are generally pretty straightforward and worth trying (I have made several of the dishes described and have been impressed).
Watch this especially if you have just returned from, or are about to go to Italy!

My favorite cooking show. I like the blend of easy recipes, humor, plain silliness, culture, great photography and the not so serious relationship between Antonio and Genarro. The show is never boring and I am always curious as of what they will do next. I hope they will do more shows ...

Great mix of food, travel and friendship
We really enjoyed this show as you can see the passion that these two have for food and life. Seeing the two friends travel through the home they left was very engaging.

Relax and be spoilt as the two greedy Italians weave their magic in this dvd. Leave the diet behind and get cooking as Mama used to make it. Five star chefs and a five star dvd.
