Moments of Magic from Mauro,
By paul cullen (Dublin, Dublin 18 Ireland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Two Character Plays for Student Actors: Collection of One-act Plays (Paperback)
As a drama teacher, I am constantly on the lookout for suitable material for my students. I came across this collection of duologues by Robert Mauro about five years ago. Since then they have been a constant source of delight for my students. All the stories engage and enthrall and have great characters for students to get their teeth into. Standouts include "Joan", a look at the last night of Joan of Arcs life; and "My Friend Never Said Goodbye", the story of a young girl trying to come to terms with the suicide of her boyfriend. The situations in these fifteen plays are for all tastes; humour, pathos, thought-provoking, and some bizarre. For performance, drama workshopping, or just reading pleasure, this is a book well worth checking out.

THE GREATEST,

This review is from: Two Character Plays for Student Actors: Collection of One-act Plays (Paperback)
I would have to say this book contains one of the greatest of duet plays ever. I know thus for a fact beings that Mauro's "My Friend Never Said GoodBye" granted my soon to be wife and I several 1st place winnings in drama festivals.

trite and boring,
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Two Character Plays for Student Actors: Collection of One-act Plays (Paperback)
This collection of poorly written sketches will not stretch your acting abilities one iota. The dialogue is generic and predictable, the moralizing tiresome, and the situations uninspired. Life is so much more interesting and multifaceted than as presented here.
