Product Description

Product Description

Making an impact, 140 characters at a time

Twitter is not 'a get rich quickly tool'. You will achieve very little by just having an account. It takes time, effort and commitment to stand a chance of success on Twitter. However, if you are prepared to spend some time on Twitter each day finding people and conversations where you can add value, then things may well happen for you.

The real value of Twitter is in the ability to search for real people talking about real stuff, right now and in real time. This offers individuals, businesses, brands the real opportunity to stop talking at customers and start talking with customers. A subtle but huge difference.

As someone who advises clients on the use of social media I get to read a lot of books on Twitter. Most of them simply rehash tired old stories, which you can get free from the web anyway. Others merely act as the missing manual.

This book is different. True it shows you how to use Twitter and has helpful screen shots. But it is littered with real case studies from businesses that actually benefit from Twitter. And they aren't the usual suspects like Starbucks and Dell. Instead, this book has examples from small and medium sized businesses showing exactly how they benefit from Twitter. Firms like a Chinese restaurant or a family jewellery shop are included - real, small businesses. For this reason, this book provides living proof of the value of Twitter in a way other books on the subject do not.

If you are in a small business or own your own company, this book is essential reading.

As an exploring and evolving Twitter user I found this book extremely useful, easy to read and with a very clear guide to how best to utilise Twitter for business. For all of you that are either new to Twitter or like me looking for guidance to make better use of your time on Twitter this is a definite must read.

A real Twitter treat 4 April 2011
This is the ideal resource for someone at the early stages of using Twitter, or those still needing to be convinced that their business will benefit from Twitter. The book details how to get started as well as simple strategies for approaching and is filled with practical case studies of how people are using it to engage and ultimately improve their sales and marketing effort. Even for an experienced Tweeter I found a few useful gems within. A short book, but certainly worth the investment.
