Product Description

Do you know what Twitter is? You should - if you're in the business of promoting your business, that is. Twitter is a social media platform that lets users blast short messages, or "tweets," to members via the Twitter Web site, as well as cell phones, e-mail, IM, and even through Facebook. It's a great and effective way to keep people connected and up to date on what's going on in their social circle in real time. But it's not just for staying in touch with friends. It's also a great way to publicize your business or organization.

Presidential campaigns use it to keep supporters and volunteers up to date; activists use it to coordinate street protests; and the office of the prime ,inister uses it to keep Britons informed on politics. But most importantly, businesses are using it to interact with customers and other businesses in a whole new way.

Twitter Power shows you how to leverage the power of Twitter for instant business benefits - like reaching new markets and increasing sales. You can build a loyal customer following, expand your brand, and generate instant buzz when you integrate Twitter into your existing marketing strategies. The best businesses of today and tomorrow are using this high-tech, low-cost, and low-hassle technology to gain real advantages over their competitors.

Joel Comm, one of the world's leading social media and online marketing experts, covers every aspect of the Twitter phenomena. He explains what Twitter is and why it works; how to jump into the conversation and build a following; how to use it to build better teams and stronger brands; how to make Twitter your ultimate customer help desk; and how to use it to drive traffic to your Web site. Plus, Comm includes case studies of businesses that use Twitter successfully, giving you the examples and best practices you need to succeed. Success in business is about staying connected - to colleagues, teams, and especially customers. Twitter offers a new, high-tech way to achi...

Given that Twitter is a 140 character micro blog, you would be forgiven for wondering why you need a book to be able to make the most of it.

However, Joel Comm's book provides real insight for the virgin twitterer who plans to use Twitter as a marketing tool for business. He fully explores all the built in Twitter features and shows you everything from maxing your Twitter appearance to keeping your tweets on the right side of libel!

He also explores the profusion of applications created to help you make the most of Twitter. However, bear in mind that the app list will have been superceded almost as soon as the ink dried on the printed page. I'd advise checking out the current selection of apps IN ADDITION to those outlined in the book.

Good book - absolutely worth the money if you plan to use Twitter in a business capacity. Not heavy on the jargon - I found it easy to read and I'm not a techie minded person at all.

Unfortunately, the whole business world is switching on to Twitter and it is increasingly being used in this way - which gets a bit annoying for everyone else on there who doesn't want a marketing man selling them anything. Read the etiquette section carefully so that you don't end up annoying people.

The Anthony Robbins involvement is the Foreword - he doesn't contribute actual copy to the book content.

Comm's book will alert you to the real business possibilities of Twitter. He guides new and intermediate Twitter users through the whole process of using Twitter productively, from creating a profile to building a following to measuring your success. He also explains how to get business results on Twitter and how to measure those results. While Comm covers the basics for beginners, even experienced users will discover tidbits that will improve how they tweet. getAbstract needs more than 140 characters to recommend Comm's book, which gives corporate communicators, brand managers and individuals the information they need to do Twitter right.

Yes V. Good.

I liked this book very much because it covers everything to give a complete newbie the confidence to start using Twitter to promote their business.

The book covers so many useful topics. Best of all for me was Twitter etiquette and how to avoid annoying fellow twitterers. Also absolutely invaluable references to Twitter tools (mainly free) to ease and enhance your twitter campaign.

Minor criticism, bit short, could have gone deeper with examples of the actual words used to promote. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

Sincere thanks to the author.
