Twitter for Dummies 21 Aug 2009
Format:Paperback
On the face of it Twitter seems simple you just post what you are doing and watch what your friends are doing. But there is so much more to it and this book explains the full capability of Twitter. It uses the normal format of the Dummies books, which I have found does not think we are dummies, I guess its just an unusual title that has stuck. The book is clearly laid out giving the usual Tips, Warnings and Remember used in the Dummies series. It even gives the Twitter handles of the three authors and just for the devil of it I sent a message to one of them using Twitter of course and lo and behold back came replies. I am not quite a sliver server but getting close and so I needed a helping hand with Twitter and this book provided it.

Twitter for Dummies 9 Nov 2009
Format:Paperback
For the completeley unitiated it is interesting but 'wordy'. It could have been written and presented in a far more concise fashion. It was quicker for me to google my enquiries about Twitter than to find them in this book. But then as the average user-age of Twitter is 31, maybe I'm just too old?!

Knowing nothing about Twitter before opening this book, I needed it to get me up and running quickly and painlessly. Allowing for the quips and tangents that seem a part of all Dummies books, the instructions were clear, concise and helpful - it told me what I needed to know. Just as useful were tips on etiquette and procedures that are difficult to find out in any other way. The authors are users but not employees of Twitter and this helped give a more balanced view - even allowing an odd criticism to be aired. The acid test is did it get me up and running. Look me up at Mikesvoice and see for yourself. I used nothing but the book to guide me.
