Review

It s obvious that many hours of hard work and money went into the making of Twisted Dark. Between thinking up 12 different stories and getting 6 artists to draw for his book, this is clearly Gibson s baby. I massively enjoyed the variety of artwork and the disturbing plot twists. I would easily recommend this to any suspense or horror lover. Felicity Gustafson Comics Bulletin --http://www.comicsbulletin.com/reviews/130939538995474.htm

I really enjoyed this book. It s been a while since I ve read any comic of this nature so this was really refreshing. I would imagine it would be just as impressive to regular readers of the genre. Gibson is a very talented writer and it s obvious he put a lot of work into this, and has collaborated with impressive artists. I highly recommend this book and I m looking forward to reading volume 2. Tristam Taylor of Comics Bulletin --http://www.comicsbulletin.com/reviews/130939538995474.htm

In short, the collection is a great start for this creative team. It's unsettling and chilling at every page, and the ending revelations are all suitably disturbing, living up to the standard that its bleak aesthetic creates from the moment the cover is opened. It's hard for me to pick a favorite story; I honestly liked them all, and I feel that each one offer something that the others don't, making the collection as a whole cover all the bases of what, in realistic settings, is scary as hell. It's dark enough that horror fans will enjoy it (I certainly did), yet it still manages to be accessible to readers who prefer drama and suspense to all-out guts and blood. It's a happy medium, I think, and this book has the potential to gather quite a wide audience. I hope it does, as I'd like to read more like it by this team in the future. Great, sophisticated, dark, frightening, and fun stuff. Tosha - Everything That Rises Must Be Read --http://toshareads.blogspot.com/2011/04/comics-review-twisted-dark-vol-1-by.html

Gripping! 28 Aug 2011
By Dodosh
Format:Paperback
These stories, spanning continents from remote village in Norway to Colombia, Dubai and Japan, have been deftly crafted by Gibson, who lures you with his compellingly sparse writing to deliver the at times devastating and always twisted endings. In addition, some of the stories are subtly linked, which made it even more intriguing. Two stories fell a little short for me but I loved the rest. Looking forward to Vol.2!

Bought both Vol.1 and Vol.2 as well as Tortured Life from Comic Con read them first chance I got and my god was I impressed.

The book is exellent. It touches on real world problems and realities we all face, but Gibson dives deep into the dark sections of the mind drawing out only the darkest most twisted thoughts.

When reading through you all ways think you can guess the ending but then BAM it twists in a way you could never imagine.

Its been a while since a had a book that truly left me wanting to do nothin more than read it.

I highly highly suggest buying this. You will not be disappointed, though be warned the stories are very Dark and very Twisted.

Although I tried to ration myself to make the experience last, I found myself staying up late and reading the whole compilation in one go. Surprisingly, aside from all having a twist, as the title implies, there is no repetition, although the stories themselves are cleverly and very subtlely linked (I had to read a couple of times to make the connections though). This means each story has the ability to not only disturb, but to surprise. I'm ordering Volume 2 and can't wait to see if it is as good as Volume 1!!
