Product Description

In May of 2013, tornadoes ripped through Oklahoma, most notably causing severe destruction in the city of Moore. Safety was stolen, dreams were destroyed, lives were lost. Almost immediately, authors and artists from around the world joined together so that their expressions of emotion could be put to good use. The dozens of authors and artists who contributed to this anthology represent caring people whose effort has combined to create the charity anthology "Twist Of Fate."
Representing the Indies In Action group, 60 authors have combined to contribute 78 different writings in a charity anthology to help tornado victims in Oklahoma. The authors represent people from all around the globe. Nine countries are represented, and several of the contributors actually live in or have lived in "Tornado Alley." It is a grassroots, group effort to help those who need it the most. The writing and photos mix to create an experience you will want to share.
This inspiring collection is a wonderful way to make a difference for those who truly need it the most. The proceeds from this book go to the May Tornadoes Relief Fund, managed by the United Way, which in turn is used to help the victims of this tragic display of nature's fury.
Thank you for sharing hope.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Outstanding Anthology For A Good Cause 2 July 2013
By D. Martin - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Reviewing a book like Twist Of Fate is always a problem. It's a charitable anthology, after all, and all the money from the sale of the book is being donated to a good cause. So you really can't say anything negative about it, can you? Fortunately Twist Of Fate doesn't suffer from that problem. The book is actually very good, and it's a fine addition to any library.

Twist Of Fate is a collection of short stories, poetry, and photographs from people all around the world. It benefits the victims and communities affected by the devastating tornadoes which hit Oklahoma in May. All the proceeds are being donated to the May Tornadoes Relief Fund administered by the United Way.

The volume is as diverse in its subject matter as it is in the geography of the contributors. Not all the work is concerned with violent weather and natural disasters, and the material is well-balanced. While some pieces do talk about Mother Nature as a stern mistress others portray nature as a place where comfort can be found. Pieces range from the short story Lyssa's New Friend by Guy Anthony De Marco to the rare poem Blond from short fiction writer George S. Geisinger. I'd have a hard time picking my favorites out of the group; they are all quite good and there isn't a dud among them.

The real beauty of the book, aside from the top-notch literary work and the photos is how the Chief Editor, Stephen L. Wilson, assembled the diverse submissions in such a way that they reinforce each other without overpowering each other. This must have been especially hard since not all of the contributors are professional writers and photographers. Some are just ordinary people who had something to contribute and they wanted to help out. The addition of the photos was a nice touch, and they accompany their pieces perfectly.

Twist Of Fate was produced by the group Indies In Action. IIA is a group of authors, poets, photographers, and artists worldwide who are devoted to creating fund-raising works to benefit the victims of tragedy. Their first book, Angels Cried, was written for and benefited the families of the victims of the Newtown school shootings earlier this year.

Normally I don't have real high expectations for a charitable anthology. I'm sure the people who create them have good intentions, but all too often they are an amateur effort and it can be painfully obvious. Here again this is not a problem with Twist Of Fate. This is a professional volume from cover to cover, and it's one you can be proud to own. You can't do much better than buy an exceptional compilation such as Twist Of Fate and know your money is going to a worthy cause. Highly recommended.

I've never seen a group of people come together from so many different background to create something so powerful that none of them gain from monetarily. Please be sure to thank each author whom you feel touched by their work. Absolutely amazing!

5.0 out of 5 stars A gem of works that touched a reader's heart. 25 July 2013
By Susan Mahoney - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Twist of Fate, is an anthology that was created out of human emotions, the threads of each contribution were difficult to describe in words, except beyond Amazing Grace. It was created and published as a gift of love and to become a charity tool of human and financial support.

It was given to the United Way as all proceeds collected are for the survivors of the Moore Oklahoma, All the pieces of the collection are full of kind compassion, and this collection of insights artistically created to expressed the deepest secrets of human emotions, one holds in their heart. Needed to be released to assured another they are not alone when tragedy strikes.

Each story, poem and artwork has a distinctive style that calls to the reader's empathy.

There are so many that were incredible and soothing to humans and pets alike.

I a cat lover read the book the next time to my cat to pronounce the words out loud for the universe to hear, and to deliver the energies of unconditional love to the survivors. Let them know caring authors, artists, poets and poetesses were thinking of them in time of need. She was serene and purring, as if she was a human and understood the human connection.

The anthology a treasured gem of dedication and undoubtedly a significant investment as it helps contributes to the United Way Coffers of tornado survivors.

The funds collected will help an individual or family believes once again in the belief of hope as the United Way Relief Counselor, says "Yes we can assist you as we have guarantee funds coming in, from the purchase of the anthology Twist of Fate."

I could not find fault as the publisher, and the team worked hard, and this is a worthy investment, and a treasure sitting on my bookshelf.

A pot of Gold at the end of the Rainbow, with its many colors and variety of contributions, and artwork to satisfy any reader. Highly recommend it for all ages.

This anthology is a quick read with many talented authors, poets, and artists participating in its creation. HONESTLY, I have a short story in this charity edition. I am proud of the talent that shares the pages of this book with my work. The mission is to help when tragedies strike; this indie group distributes their royalties from this book to those on the frontlines after natural or manmade disasters such as the Oklahoma Twister.
