Product Description

''There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadows, between science and superstition. And it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call…The Twilight Zone.''

5.0 out of 5 stars Great follow up to season 3 12 Jan 2013
By KM HALL OF FAME TOP 10 REVIEWER
Format:DVD
Love The Twilight Zone as it takes me back to my childhood and I still find it fascinating!I thought I'd list the episodes in this season as I've just finished watching it and as they all seem to meld into one and I for one cannot remember what episode was from what season nowadays, old age and all that! Season four episodes were lengthened from 30mins to 1 hour in order to fill the time slot at the time on American tv and were originally aired in 1963, So here they are with a very short description. . .
1. In His Image - A man is confused by a murderous impulse and a loss of his memory
2. The Thirty-Fathom Grave - A strange tapping sound draws a ship to the site of a sunken World War II submarine
3. Valley of the Shadow - A newspaper reporter discovers a small town of people with extraordinary powers, and they insist on keeping them a secret
4. He's Alive - A neo-Nazi receives advice from a mysterious stranger on gaining followers for his cause
5. Mute - A mute telepathic girl is the sole survivor of a fire that kills her parents
6. Death Ship - Three astronauts discover exact duplicates of their spaceship and themselves on a distant planet
7. Jess-Belle - A mountain girl enlists a witch to help her win back her lover
8. Miniature - A timid clerk sees the figurines of a museum's 19th-century miniature dollhouse come to life
9. Printer's Devil - A typist saves a failing newspaper by reporting disasters before they happen
10. No Time Like the Past - A scientist goes back in time to try and change history
11. The Parallel -An astronaut returns from a space flight to find things much changed during his absence
12. I Dream of Genie - A bookkeeper acquires a lamp with a genie that offers him one wish
13. The New ExhibitJohn - A museum curator keeps wax figures of five infamous killers in his basement; then murders start occurring
14. Of Late I Think of Cliffordville - An aging tycoon exchanges his fortune for a trip to the past and a new beginning
15. The Incredible World of Horace Ford - A middle-aged toy designer goes back to his childhood when he visits his old neighborhood
16. On Thursday We Leave for Home - A group of space pioneers prepare for a return trip to Earth, having failed to establish a new society on a distant planet, but the group's leader refuses to give up his authority
17. Passage on the Lady Anne - To save their marriage, a couple book a cruise on a ship whose other passengers are all old
18. The Bard - An aspiring television writer conjures up the spirit of William Shakespeare and takes credit for the playwright's television script

After 120 episodes and four years there was only one more season made in 1963/64 and it went back to the 23 minute episodes (30 inc commercials) . Sterling and his team were exhausted and wanted to call it a day believing TZ had run it's course after season 4 but managed to squeeze one more season out with some cracking episodes and 36 in total.

There are very few TV shows that can match THE TWILIGHT ZONE in terms of enjoyablity, re-watchability, influence and pure freakin' awesomeness! Each episode tells a different story and they all have brilliant characters and more twists and turns than a rollercoaster. Every single one, without fail. Despite the episodes growing to an hour in length (rather than previously being just shy of 30 minutes each), this volume remains just as strong as the previous box sets. Included in this set is about 20 episodes including the mind-messing "In His Image", "I Dream Of Genie","Minature" (staring Robert Duvall from THE GODFATHER films), "He's Alive" with the late great Dennis Hopper and my personal favourite episode, "Valley Of The Shadow" which is just insane.

The box set also has a heap load of great extras too including commentaries, radio shows, musical scores from the show, billboards, a saturday night live clip, original promos for the next episodes a photo gallery and, best of all, the Twilight Zone comic book (on the DVD-ROM). Add to that a great picture quality and you have yourself one heck of a boxset that anyone (especially a science fiction fan) would love!

Highly highly recommended!
