I feel very disloyal writing this as I have always been a huge Emma Blair fan, but the story line in Twilight times was thinner than Kate Moss on the Atkins diet.
Good God - what has happened to the fantastic story-teller I have grown to love? This book is filled with labourious speech that never culminates in anything exciting, the weakest of plots and the most disappointing leap in years half way through a book I have ever read.
The first quarter of the book was ok, but I confess to assuming that the plot was building... I really wish I had been right. Just as I was growing to like the charactors - boom! Half of them are dead and the two main charactors have gone from their twenties to being grandmothers!
I'm so sorry if you are reading this Ian, I did so want to write a fantastice review, I adored your earlier books, but this was not up to standard.

Awful 8 Mar 2012
Format:Paperback
I usually love Emma Blair's books. I'd go as far to say 'Street Song' must be one of my favourite reads ever so I was enoying this up till the part we'd suddenly moved on about 40 years. What on earth happened to Maggs' son? Maybe the boredom made me miss that part. It isn't often I regret reading a book but I did with this one. It just left me very dissatisfied. Give this book a miss.
