5.0 out of 5 stars Danger, deception and desire 25 Sep 2005
By Ladybubbles VINE VOICE
Format:Paperback
When an innocent girl was murdered, Damien found himself under investigation by PI Shannon Mallory, He had promised himself that he would always remain in the shadows, but now he was threatened by a terrible weakness - a fatal passion for this beautiful woman...
Suspicion had first drawn Shannon into a search for the truth behind the legends that swirled around this man. But it was not suspicion that kept her there, or even fear - it was pure, stunning desire...
This is just one in a series of books written by Maggie Shayne about her vampire race, it is an interesting twist to an old theme and it works brilliantly - once you have read one, you will definitely want to get the rest.

5.0 out of 5 stars More Twilight, please! 14 Aug 2012

Format:Kindle Edition
I finally finished the last of the eighteen books of Maggie Shayne's Twilight series, and all I can say is that I don't want them to end! Talk about being emotionally invested in the characters--wow! Forget the newbies in the movies. Shayne's Twilight books are definitely vamps for the big girls.

I just love Maggie Shayne's "Twilight for big girls" series. I have had most of the series for a while, but did not read them until recently when I finally found the first books in the series. Great stories, just sad that there will be no more.

I've waited a long time to read this, because it was impossible to find the paperback at a good price. Well worth the the wait but could have been longer! Good for an earlier work, although her later books are much better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book 22 Feb 2000
By L. Ward - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
While I still believe the second in the series "Twilight Memories" is my favorite, this book stands up well with the rest of the Wings of the Night series. The explanations of the legends of Gilgamesh <sp?> was fascinating and returning the characters from the previous books was inspired as well. The hero is outstanding. The heroine isn't my favorite but the rest of the book makes up for any fault to be found in her.
