Product Description

Product Description

For one hour every night between seven and eight o'clock it is possible for book characters to come out of their books and wander freely amongst their neighbouring volumes. On one such night the hero of our book, Little Tom, sees a young girl being kidnapped by a gorilla. He decides to save her but must catch up with them by eight o'clock and get back to his own book before he is shut out in the 'twilight world'. Little Tom has to follow a trail of banana skins, and collect the pages from an alphabet book that the little girl is scattering as clues, and also collect the golden doubloons that the Pirate lets fall from his pockets - as well as a whole host of other objects, while chasing through the pages of other books on the library shelves.

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautifully illustrated book, suitable for all ages., 7 Sep 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Twilight Book (Hardcover)
This book depicts a fantasy world on a bookcase, and allows us to watch the book characters come alive during the hour between 7 and 8 o'clock. Can Little Tom and his dog,Trash, rescue the little girl from the Cruel Ape before darkness falls? We follow them as they rush from book to book encountering numerous adventures and characters along the way. Clues to find, trails to follow and puzzles to solve - there is something new to discover in this book each time you open it. This is an adventure story, a comic book, a game of hide and seek, and a race against time, all rolled into one, as well as a beautiful work of art. I would recommend this witty and interactive picture book, for readers of all ages.
