The Twig Trilogy,
By Lilac Lamb (London) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Twig Trilogy (The Edge Chronicles) (Hardcover)
My 11-year old son read this and this is what he says about it:" this is probably the best book I have ever read and by a huge margin.Every thing about it is absoloutely perfect and makes for epic reading. It may be a bit big but so is Harry Potter 5 and to be honest with you, I'd rather read this.Paul Stewart and Chris Riddel's ingenuity knows no bounds and it is a crime that this is not as successful as better-selling books that are actually worse than this. The Edge Chronicles are simply in auniverse of their own."

Wow,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Twig Trilogy (The Edge Chronicles) (Hardcover)
I read these books when I was about seven and they really got me into reading and using my imagination. The illustrations are stunning, the storyline is rich and impossibly imaginative, and I found myself lost in the Deepwoods with Banderbears and wondorous plants. Just to give you some perspective about how special these books are, I am writing this five years later with every detail still fresh in my mind.

This review has a man-eating cauliflower in it (and some reviewing too!),
This review is from: The Twig Trilogy (The Edge Chronicles) (Hardcover)
Take it from me, a humble just-13-year-old, The Edge Chronicles are brilliant books. I have read all of them and every beautifully illustrated, imaginatively written detail has remained stamped on my mind. The Twig trilogy was my favourite and when I was about seven I found myself curled up every night reading them and practicing drawing my own imaginative creatures ('what a SADDO' some some might say but I would reply with a witty remark or a drawing of them being eaten by a giant cauliflower, complete with fangs, a small tomato slave and possibly a throne carved out of carrots - I aquired these extremely useful skills because of inspiration from reading these amazing books). If you haven't got a brick for a child or don't want your child to turn into one via hours of video games I really recommend these books.
Imagination 10/10 Illustrations 10/10 Characters 10/10 Inspirational - Yup :)
