Format:Hardcover
The autobiography of the man who virtually invented modern rally co-driving, managed the works BMC team (Big Healeys, Mini Coopers and more), moved to Ford and was responsible for the myriad victories of the rallying Escorts, the birth of the RS200 and Sierra RS500, the Escort Cosworth... and much more. It's all here. Turner is one of the funniest and most perceptive thinkers on motorsports and his autobiography is quite simply a superb read. Compulsory reading for anyone interested in rallying, the British car industry, the structure of motorsport, or just a very funny book written by someone who's had a full and fascinating life and is a born raconteur. This book really is laugh-out-loud funny, as well as covering a lot of history. I read it in one sitting, and look forward to doing so again many times in future. Even includes a sample of the legendary rude correspondence between Turner and Jackie Stewart that's almost worth the cover price alone.
