Book Description

An exciting topical crime thriller set in the run up to the London Olympics from the bestselling Helen Black.

Product Description

As the UK struggles with a hopeless war in the Middle East, the worst recession in a hundred years and a fraud scandal which has rocked the government to its core, the Prime Minister is determined to host an unrivalled summer of sporting achievement at the London Olympics to propel the country into a new era. Joe Moran, MP for Primrose Hill and keen long distance runner and sports fan, is among the many around the world eagerly anticipating the games and is delighted when he is asked to become minister for Sports and Heritage, heavily involved in the plans for the opening ceremony. It beats the tedium of life in Westminster as even meetings are less boring when the subject matter is sport.Less boring that is, until the first bomb explodes... and MI5 uncover a plot to kill thousands of people while the world watches on television.

London 2012 Thirller! 18 April 2012
By Judrop
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have read all of Helen Black's previous books and this one is a completely different type of story. The story centre's around this years 2012 Olympics Games and the security with the main Characters Jo the new minister and Ronnie X the terrorist... but is she. I must admit I didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised and the book moves at a fast pace. I'm not giving anything away cos I suggest you read it for your self.

booooo! 27 April 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Bought this book thinking i would be catching up with 'Lily Valentine'. Very disapointed to realise that this is not a 'Lily' book...Booooooooo! Decided to read it anyway, as i have enjoyed all of Helen Black's previous books. I couldn't get on with it, it is so different. I am quite a politics phobe and as soon as the book started going on about the prime minister and such, i put it straight down. I've given the book one star, as i did enjoy the first few pages. I might still give it another go, after i am over my disapointment of not catching up with 'Lily'!
