As a big fan of his 1980 recordings , e.g. Strong Persuader,False Accusations etc, I'm delighted to see he has returned to that type of quality with this album.
I had gone off Cray in the 90s,and after the awful 'I was Warned',I wished that I'd been warned how bad it was before I had bought it!
So I took a chance on this CD and I'm so glad I did.
All the passion, soul and sheer joy of old has returned.
Robert's singing and unique guitar style are as good as ever.
There are no 'filler'tracks on this CD.
My favourites being 'Poor Johnny' 'That Aint Love' & the outstanding 'Twenty'.
So ,hopefully, this marks a permanent return to form for Robert Cray.
If so ,it is to be welcomed!
P.S.Check out his 'Live at the BBC' album ,as it features his live concerts from the 1980s,recorded by the Beeb.Although only released in the last couple of years,It's already in my top 10 albums ever.
