3CD-MIXED BY MARK SHIMMON-2000

Amazon.co.uk

Dance fads come and go, but 1999's Big Thing, trance, actually managed to outlast its shelf life, coming kicking and screaming--and waving its glowstick--into the new millennium. Of course, it did have to develop a little along the way, spawning "deep trance" as its more intelligent offspring--fewer cheesy samples and naff vocals, more whooshes and deep beats. 21st Century Deep Trance brings together an impressive selection of old favourites, such as trance überlord Paul Van Dyk, BT and Bedrock, as well as some belters from slightly less well known artists such as Stephen Parker, Amethyst and Origin. Each CD is subtly mixed, slowly luring you in before going for the jugular. Fillers are kept to a minimum, pumping beats to a maximum. And you get three CDs of it. Spookily, though, three of the best tracks are all track 9 on their corresponding CD--whether this is some intergalactic 999 cry for help to alien creatures or just coincidence remains to be seen.--Helen Marquis

3 CDS! All of them have pure quality in them. The 2nd CD is probably the highlight of the 3 with such deep trance classics as the Cygnus X's Orange Theme with a new Solar Stone remix, giving an old classic new life. Also PvD & BT's Namistai is a TUNE! that deserves a big mention. Even though i cant remeber the names of all of the tracks, i can honestly say that i never got bored over the 3cds. An essential album to listen to before or after clubbing.
If you are a fan of music by dj's from the likes of Sasha, Digweed, Tong, BT, Timo Maas etc. then you will not be dissapointed by this cd collection.
Very good.

And they're Grrrrrrrreat
Love it or wanna marry it and for ever call it your own, techno goes from strength to strength.
This one is very good. Very very good. Some of the artists are unknown but they make good choons. These tracks arent just the fillers that the DJs use, you may well recognise them as they play somewhere in your D**** adled brain; sparks will fly and suddenly you'll feel nostaligic with out quite being able to work out why.
Its well put together. If you like this buy 21st Century Trance Vol2 as well. Jeez mate £20 for this lot? Its a bargain. And you haven't had to buy a crappy Trance Nation to boot. If you like these two CDs recommend to your DJ mates they rush out and look for the REACT record label. Its the best.
This is the london underground techno scene.

3 CD's of superb deep trance tracks that pull out all the stops. Most tracks are very long, so you can listen to every pounding beat before the big breakdown.
Quite a few tracks are less well known but they do not disappoint, but instead leave a unique album full of a good track selections. Higlights include the mysterious 'D Mention' by Stephen Parker, the excellent 'O' by Planisphere and who could forget the brilliant 'Namistai' by the duo of BT & Paul Van Dyk.
A definate must for fans of Deep House and Trance. This triple pack will not disappoint!

What can I say? From the soothing melodies of Miller and Floyd's 'Colours' to the pumping, hands in the air trance of the mighty 'Subraumstimulation' this is a top compilation of all the talent of the undergroung scene. There are a few mainstream artists here but most of the quality is from the unknown. Top tracks include Stephen Parker's 'D mention' and the mody 'Run' by Ecano. Buy it, you wont regret it!

Satisfying at almost all levels 15 Jun. 2000
By Jose A. Camil - Published on Amazon.com

I just bought this boxets two days ago and I can say it really satisfyed my musical hunger. I already have about 1/2 of all the tracks thanks to my spending in Global Underground releases and other quality discs... I believe that I'm going to give this boxset to my girlfriend. Anyway, if you do not have more than 1/4 of the tracks here then get it. The track selection is top notch since it covers the good side of the trance rainbow with a minimum amount of cheesey trance. There are lots of tracks that have been played by Seb Fontaine, Lee Burridge and other great DJ's on their visit to Mexico. Expect deep grooves, out of this world sounds and some glowstick anthems. For those that want to have great tunes with good, but not excelent, mixing at a great pric, go ahead and get this box. (I'm thinking of using this to convert those who hate trance... hahaha)
