Product Description

Review

'This volume is a laudable attempt by Francisco Romero to produce a synthetic account of Spain's tortuous twentieth-century history for an undergraduate readership.' - Mary Vincent, History On-Line 'Through his expertise, Romero is aware of the aspects of the topic that the students perceive to be the most complex and has written his book to explain them. As such both teacher and pupil can benefit from his knowledge. This is a very worthy book, which will earn its worth again and again.' - Anne M. McEwan, History Teaching Review Yearbook 'A useful addition to the voluminous literature which offers a sound introduction to a range of issues.' - P.J. McGuire, University of Brighton '[T]he unbiased nature of Romero Salvado's account positively shines.' - Ricardo Landeira, Hispania

Format: Paperback
I have to admit that it has been one of the fewer history books about Spain that are very easy to read. You will not manage to take your eyes away from it until the end of each chapter. It gives you a different perspective from the general Spanish history you have tradicionaly been told in Spain. At the same time, it unveils that some of the most popular myths regarding Spanish History, are not sustainable any more!! It is a pity not to find it translated into Spanish for the Spanish people.
