I have read all of Sophie Kinsella's books and enjoyed every one of them. "Twenties Girl" is another winner, a little different from Kinsella's usual style and characters but extremely enjoyable for it.
It is laugh-out-loud funny in some parts, completely surreal in others and still in other parts quite sad. I was almost in tears near the end!
It also gives an interesting look at the fashions and fads of the 1920s Flapper girls, and there is a particularly poignant scene in an old people's home where Lara, the story's main protagonist, realises that all the elderly residents were once young, vibrant, beautiful people with lives and loves of their own.
Altogether a lovely, funny, heartwarming read. Highly recommended.
