An Uplifting Experience.
HiRise is an elegant iMac stand designed to elevate your iMac or Apple Display to your optimal viewing height for a more comfortable and ergonomic work station. HiRise has an internal metal support shelf that lets you adjust the height of your Mac in one of six internal positions and is over-engineered to securely support any iMac or Apple Display. HiRise also creates a hidden storage compartment that's perfect for stashing hard drives and cables, or your wallet and keys. Save your back and ditch the stack of books under your iMac in favor of HiRise.
See Eye-to-Eye With Your iMac.
The ideal viewing position for your Mac is right about eye level. HiRise elevates your Mac to your most comfortable viewing height, ending the slouching in your chair or unsightly old phone book under your iMac. To adjust the height of HiRise, simply reposition the internal metal support shelf to the desired height and slide your iMac stand into HiRise. It's really that simple. Oh yeah, and placing the shelf into the second slot from the bottom will perfectly align the screen height your iMac with a Thunderbolt Display. How sweet is that?
Need Hidden Storage Space?
The eye-catching design of HiRise comes with a bonus feature: Hidden storage. HiRise has perforated front and rear faceplates that attach with powerful magnets. Remove the front faceplate to reveal a nifty little nesting spot for a backup hard drive, Mac Mini, your wallet and keys, iPod or anything else you'd like to squirrel away from plain sight. The perforated faceplates allow plenty of ventilation to keep your drive cool. If you'd prefer safer, more permanent storage, you can securely attach the faceplates with the included screws. Either way, HiRise makes an awesome little hideout for gear, while allowing you to position your Mac to a more comfortable viewing height.
Designed For The Big iMac.
HiRise was designed to support all iMac and Apple Display models that have an L-shaped stand, including Thunderbolt Display and the behemoth 27-inch iMac. HiRise features a solid, rounded, two-piece metal outer frame with an adjustable, internal metal shelf. Perforated front and rear faceplates give HiRise its distinct, ultra mod look. Flip HiRise over and you'll find two teflon sliders that allow you to easily turn and move your Mac without scratching the surface of your desk.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why would I want to elevate my Mac to sit higher on my desk?
Ideally your Mac screen should be right about eye level. HiRise gives you the ability to adjust the height of your Mac to your most comfortable viewing height, in a safe and sturdy manner.
Is it really true that HiRise will perfectly align an iMac with a Thunderbolt Display?
It's not a rumor. It's 100% true. Set the metal support shelf to the second slot from the bottom and it the bottom edge of screen on your iMac will be inline with the screen on your Thunderbolt Display.
Is HiRise compatible with all Macs?
HiRise is compatible with all iMacs, Apple Thunderbolt Displays and Apple Cinema Displays with metal L-shaped desk stand (except the 30-inch Cinema Display).
What is this secret storage compartment on HiRise?
Remove the front or rear faceplate on HiRise and you will find a perfect little storage space for stuff like a Mac mini, portable hard drive or your wallet and keys. The faceplates are held in place with magnets, or you can use the included screws for more permanent storage. Faceplates are perforated to give devices stored inside adequate circulation.
Is it safe to use HiRise with my 27-inch iMac?
Totally. HiRise is over-engineered and constructed with metal to handle the weight of the largest iMac.
Can I use my Twelve South BackPack with HiRise?
Absolutely. HiRise will not interfere with BackPack when it's used on the back of your Mac stand. In fact, there will still be room for two BackPacks on one Mac.

Construction quality and build is excellent.
Call me fickle, but I definitely judge a product by its packaging and my first impressions in this regard were very positive. The packaging is well designed both aesthetically and practically. Metal components have foam between them to prevent accidental knocks or damage in transit.
The stand itself feels very solid. I can't actually overstate how heavy and robust this thing feels. It pieces together easily and is essentially secured by attaching the back plate. This is attached with four hex screws and one of my few criticisms, would be that these are a little fiddly and the Allen key never feels truly in, when screwing the screws in. That said, it's a very small night and the screws themselves, once in, are definitely secure.
Both the front and back panel are magnetised and click into place reassuringly even without the screws.
In some of the pictures it looked to me like the front cover is somehow hinged. It isn't. It is simply magnetised and can be levered down, essentially detaching it.
My second small gripe is the colour. It's a couple of shades off the metal of my display and peripherals. In fairness, most people probably wouldn't notice, but I do a lot of design work and tend to pick up on stuff like that. It really is only a couple of shades though, so it's a small thing I'd imagine they'll fix at some stage.
Overall, I'm happy to give the stand 5 stars. It's solid as a rock, suits the apple displays perfectly, has a number of height adjustments and has the added advantage of concealed/extra storage if you want it.
The packaging might be considered a little OTT because it arrives oddly enough in a very nice presentation box – useful for storage or due to the high quality and non branding keep it as an impressive gift box.
When it comes to assembly it was so easy (even a girl could do it – hehe!). I remembered other reviewers saying the screws were of low quality but I tightened them just enough to lock the parts together with no issues. Others suggested that the front plate would be better if it was hinged. I have to disagree as the retaining magnets are excellent and the simplicity of the system makes it much easier to access the storage space inside. I use this concealed space to hide a camera card reader and a Samsung Slim DVD drive (another great Amazon buy), both occasional use items I need to keep handy and dust-free. The money saved by not buying an Apple DVD superdrive went towards the cost of the HiRise.
I wanted to aline my new (27”) iMac with an old one of the same size that now sits a couple of inches higher on a shelf adjacent to my desk. Even on the highest height setting I was just 5mm short of the perfect position – I simply fixed this by packing solid board between the HiRise shelf and the base of the iMac. I would guess that you get up to around an extra 10mm height if you need it. I’m going to cut some Foamex to size to add another shelf inside to tidy up the storage – I would say the simplicity of this product allows all kinds of hacks to customise to your needs.Read more ›
The whole thing arrived beautifully packaged, in much the same manner as Apple package their own products. The HiRise is in two halves which slide together and are then held together with a perforated back plate. This is where I encountered my first problem - the four screw holes on the back plate do not line up exactly with the corresponding holes on the chassis. Being all aluminium, there is no 'give' and as a result I have had to leave one screw out. The screws themselves are tiny and have to be screwed in using a quite flimsy little allen key (supplied) but given that you really only need to do this once it's not too much of a problem.
My only other gripe is that the cover plate that goes on the front to hide whatever objects you decide to place within the stand, is not hinged but instead is held on by four magnets. Some sort of hinge system would have been nice but I dare say would have added to the cost or obstructed the opening. That said, you don't have to use the inside of the stand to store stuff and the front cover can be screwed in place if that's your preference. Regards storing stuff inside the chassis it's big enough to take an iPad 2 although you'd have to leave the front cover off.
The iMac itself stands on an aluminium shelf that you slide into the chassis at one of six different heights, and using the topmost setting it raised my iMac up by about 5cm, just about enough to be at a comfortable viewing height.
Overall I'm pleased with the purchase, it's a nicely constructed bit of kit (aside from the poor alignment of the screw holes), although perhaps a tad expensive for what it is.
