Very high quality package.
Indeed as much thought (and money?) had gone into the package as the product.
All the adapters, screws and bolts you need.
All beautifully laid out.
But basically this is just a shelf to put behind your iMac.
Looks great though and matches the high standard of Mac "cool".
Would have been 5 stars if packing was a tad less extravagant
and the product a chunk less expensive.

High quality product, well packaged and excellently made. Only thing stopping it being a 5 star review is the price. Even £5 cheaper would make a difference for what is a shelf and nothing else.

The paint finish comes off very easily as you tighten up the nuts and bolts. The plastic clips designed to mount shelf on to imac are not designed for latest iMac as the size of clips is to big. I needed to add elastic bands so that the connection to iMac held in place and the shelf didn't stop sliding until it sat on top of power cable which is what it did until I added the elastic bands. I needed to add extra washers to make secure the rubberized pegs/legs that hold external hard disk upright instead of flat.

Can't fault this product. Nice packaging and instructions. Different attachments for different iMacs. Can be used front or back. (Who would use front?). Supports provided for holding MacAir vertically. I've got two 2.5" external drives on mine lying flat (stacked). Currently backing up 300GB data with no temperature problems between the two drives. The shelf comes with a rubber mat to avoid slips or scratches. My iMac is in the living room so helps keep everything looking tidy. Feels well made and looks the part as if made by Apple.

The instructions were very difficult to follow - why on earth didn't they say the the sizes of the plastic inserts were given inside! I took the four plastic inserts out of the box and then spent an unhappy hour trying to decide which was small/large and left/right! That sorted I couldn't get it the stand on the back of the iMac and like other reviewers I certainly couldn't get it to tighten. In the end I let it slip down to a 'tight' place and that will have to do. But the main difficulty is that it's much too small to hold anything. I thought it would take a hard drive but I would never trust a hard drive on this tiny shelf. I've no idea what I'll put on it. A very disappointing purchase all round - and I'm an avid fan of all things Amazon!

My first impression of this gadget was that it was expensive or what it was, having had one for a few weeks it is clearly very good and since my post as well. I have a backup hard drive plugged into the machine at all times and the shelf at the back of the iMac keeps everything very neat and tidy
