Book Description

Detective Inspector Quigg and Sergeant Lulu Begone (on an exchange programme from the South African Police Service) must hunt down a festive serial killer who is selecting his victims to match the Christmas carol - The Twelve Days of Christmas. Each day, victims are found stabbed with their clothes removed and their faces ripped off. A verse from the carol is daubed on the wall in blood. Will Quigg find the killer before he is forced to resign? Also, Quigg must choose between two women, or must he? And can he persuade the Chief to let Sergeant Begone be his partner on a permanent basis?

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Saturday afternoon read! 14 April 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this short story featuring Quigg although I wish I'd read it before the other Quigg stories. That aside, it was well written. There is'nt too much emphasis put onto the description of the murder scenes which I like. For me it's all about the job in hand and the relationship between Quigg and the people he works with.
Very much looking forward to More Quigg.

This is the third of the Quigg books from Tim Ellis and I couldn't put it down. This character is sharp and witty and makes you smile and sad as well. I loved the storyline, it was something different and I will not give anything away about it. It's well worthing reading. Another great book from Tim Ellis.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 21 Jan. 2012

I knew this was a short story, but was very disappointed when it ended (my kindle was showing that I had only read 49%), I wanted to keep on reading about the detectives Lulu and Quigg.

I have read 6 other books by this author and find him to be an excellent, fast moving writer and very amusing.

4.0 out of 5 stars The twelve murder of christmas 30 Mar. 2012

I'v read a number of Tim Ellis s novels, this one on my Kindle. I have found that he has a good sense of humour dispite the sometimes morbid story line,Never to serious, This one the title gives away the general plot it's a race against the time scale involved. I enjoyed the way he fleshes out the main characters, Only thing I have found is that the ending sometimes comes extremely quickly in his novels, but a good read all the same. Not to stressing, a good read with humour.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read 11 Jun. 2012

I enjoyed this story. It was very short, but at less than a pound, it was good value. I really liked how the author described the police officer characters. The only downside was the explanation of the crime itself. I didn't really feel like there was much explanation of the motive behind the crime, but I suppose that was because it was a short story. This was the first book by Ellis I have read, but I will be reading more of his books.
