Product Description

Product Description

NT Wright offers reflections on the Sunday readings in the "Revised Common Lectionary for Year A." This book brings together his widely read columns in the "Church Times", and also contains new pieces, to cover all the Sundays and major festivals. Scholarship, history and insights into the world and language of the Bible are woven together to give a deeper understanding of the Word of the Lord. This book will be invaluable to anyone who wants to gather their thoughts in preparation for Sunday worship, or for regular Bible study throughout the year.

About the Author

NT Wright is the Bishop of Durham. He is one of the world's foremost New Testament scholars, a regular broadcaster and best-selling author. Several of his books have won awards, including The Resurrection of the Son of God, one of three volumes in his magisterial Christian origins and the Question of God series, and a number of titles from his popular For Everyone series of New Testament guides.

Simple but powerful 11 Nov 2004
Format:Paperback
This is a great book. It takes "heavy" issues and "heavy" events on the christian calendar and makes them easy to understand, easy to follow and makes the bible versus relevant. This in turn makes studying the bible more powerful and interesting, as opposed to full of language you might not really understand.
For people intrigued, or mature christians, this book is a superb tool.

This is the third book I have had by this author for the lectionary year, I find these very helpful and better than having a daily reading to follow, there are two pages for each week and three lectionary bible readings, the commentaries are very helpful but not too deep for most people to follow.
