Considering the fact that Bananarama was hailed as one of the most successful girl groups of all-time by the Guinness Book of Records, it's surprising how little respect is paid to their output. None of their full-length albums has been properly remastered even though they are still available in some markets.

Well, since this happy little group made a lot of waves in the dance clubs around the world for a bluk of the 1980s, it seems only fitting that a retrospective of their club mixes should surface. This collection compiles some of the most loved versions of Bananarama's singles. They are most brilliantly remastered and sound incredible when you raise the volume.

It is with great hope that this album does relatively well. Rumour is that WSM is considering a second volume-- likely to include "I Can't Help It" and "Love in the First Degree" as well as some alternate mixes of the tracks included here. Definitely check out the "Digital Mix" of "Cruel Summer", which is a brand new mix created from the original tapes. There was never a proper 12" mix of this song, so one was brilliantly made using the standard mix as well as elements of the dub version.

These remixes have never sounded better!!! Kudos for using the brilliant "Hot Power Mix" of "Love, Truth & Honesty". It is, by far, the best mix of this song and most unlike the album version. Well done!!!

This collection is really good sound quality on all the mixes is excellent. Great to finally get some rare mixes on cd like Love Truth & Honesty (Hot Power Mix) Trippin On Your Love (Mixed by George Michael)and a great Remix of Cruel Summer aswell. Great music for a party or getting ready to go out on a Saturday night. With tracks missing like I Cant Help It, I Want You Back & Love In The 1st Degree Please, Please lets have a volume 2.

you will all know the nanas by now so...is it worth buying?

the answer is..yes! its only 4.99!

"really saying something" is very much as the original...then "shy boy" and cruel summer" are very much of the 80s extended mix variety..where the instrumental is extended but sticks very much to the original version..great to have them on cd!

"venus" is very hazell dean 12"..great! "more than physical" is ok but the original is enough as this adds nothing new! "trick of the night" sounds like an extended princess track..its ok but it goes nowhere in the 8 minutes and the single version is better!

"i heard a rumour" sounds pretty much like the single.."love truth and honesty" wasnt a big hit and at 9 minutes long its a bit yawn! yawn!..if you know mandy smith it sounds like one of her album tracks..if you havent heard mandy smiths pwl album its wonderliferous!!!

"nathan jones" is a great extended mix..but im biased cos im called nathan and anything to give me more credit...is wonderful!!! seriously its good cos the original theme is there but it goes a little bit further!

"only your love" isnt anything special.."preacher man" is much better.."tripping on your love" again plods along!

to sum it up..its great to have these versions but their is nothing spectacular!

its fine..but nothing new!
