Messy Time Plush Jake is a cuddly replica of the character from the BBC's popular Tweenies series. Jake measures approximately 34 cm (13 inches) high, and is made from soft orange velour material, with an authentic yellow Mohican hairstyle. Young fans of the series will know that the gang loves Messy Time, where they get creative with paints, crayons and the like. Jake is dressed ready for Messy Time in a blue laminated tabard and blue cotton shorts. The tabard has a green front pocket, ideal for storing small items. All Jake's clothing is easily removable for little hands (the tabard fastens with Velcro at the back and his shorts are elasticated), so he can also be used for dressing-up play.

The soles of Jake's boots cleverly conceal two stamper designs (Jake's face and a paw print). Using the ink pad included, budding artists can use Jake's footprints to customise their own designs. The manufacturer warns that the ink used may stain fabrics, so care should be taken. Jake himself is surface-washable only, although splashes should be easy enough to remove with a damp cloth. Because of small parts, Messy Time Plush Jake is not recommended for children under three years of age. --Alison Drury
