At school, I remember drumming milk bottles with a pencil & vibrating a plastic ruler to A Forest by The Cure. The class thought it rather good. I suspect Daniel Pemberton would have too. After all he utilised the same
vibrating ruler sound on 'ruler clown' (That'll Teach Em) and got paid for it. Introed by Johnny Trunk - himself a legend in the world of obscure releases (Tommorow People, Whicker Man, UFO) on his own Trunk label - this is a collection of TV themes & incidental music composed by Pemberton for shows like 'Bad Lad's Army' 'Hell's Kitchen' & the marvellous 'Peep Show.' This is horribly addictive, purpose built fly on the wall idiot music - 'the stempington stomp', 'from fiji with love' & 'sugar drum scary' indicate just how wired Pemberton's mind is - magnificent lunacy endorsed for those less than magnificent shows you can't help but watch. Essential fun!

This is a brilliant CD, Pemberton is a genius. The music is very quirky but also addictive. A unique addition to my music collection. Cool packaging, a 1st class product!

I first heard Daniel Pemberton's music on Hell's Kitchen and was enthralled by the tune which set the tone for the show and sometimes outshone it. I had to have that track and finally here it is along with other goodies from that square or sometimes bigger box that rules our lives some of the time. Whilst listening to the album I couldn't help but liken it to another genius 'Mr.Scruff'(check him out) very similar in style on times but I'm not complaining, because it's good to have some fresh inventive music available to listen to as opposed to re-mixes galore and cover versions of old songs. Daniel certainly kept me entertained from the start to the finish of this fine offering. People like him has made people take notice of adverts and theme tunes.
