From Amazon.co.uk

Jackie Chan looks spiffy in The Tuxedo, but the movie needs a tailor. No Jackie Chan movie could be a total misfire, however, and he's charmingly self-effacing here as a hapless chauffeur who inadvertently replaces his injured super-agent boss (Jason Issacs) and foils a madman (Ritchie Coster) who plans to infect the world's water supply and reap a fortune selling pure bottled water. Jackie's a bumbling superhero after donning his boss's high-tech, Inspector Gadget-like tuxedo (it even has a "Mambo" setting), and curvaceous co-agent Jennifer Love Hewitt coaches him in crime fighting while closing in on the bad guys. It's all as routinely ridiculous as it sounds--Jackie's faux James Brown act is the only real highlight--and as critic Roger Ebert observed, the climax hinges on an insect queen that doesn't exist in nature! So, while Jackie and Jennifer provide a few moments of stellar stunts and random amusement, you can blame this mess on screenwriters who didn't do their homework. --Jeff Shannon

Product Description

This side-splitting film about a fast-driving chauffeur who unwittingly becomes a secret agent when he puts on a state-of-the-art tuxedo, showcases Chan doing the kind of moves that have delighted his fans for years. A comedy partnership is tailor-made when international action star Jackie Chan joins forces with the glamorous Jennifer Love Hewitt as they battle against evil villains in a dangerous world of international espionage. The main character is a super tux, made by world-renowned Giorgio Armani, that includes amazing in-built gadgetry enabling the wearer to run faster, perform martial arts, woo women and sing and dance better than anyone else. When Jimmy Tong (Chan) slips it on, the formal world of black tie is transformed into comedy mayhem as the tux takes control.

With a cameo performance from the Godfather of Soul James Brown, who Chan has to replace on stage after accidentally knocking him out, The Tuxedo provides entertainment for not only kung fu fans, but also for lovers of slap stick comedy, music, dance and secret service dramas.

There were one or two humorous moments in this movie and some good action sequences but on the whole the dialogue was poor and the story plain boring. The tuxedo that made its wearer almost superhuman was a good idea.
This production had the feel of a James Bond movie without Bond being there. As with Bond productions you have to supsend your disbelief to enjoy what you are seeing but when you see how Jackie Chan behaves so often like spiderman in The Tuxedo you will disbelieve the suspension.I don't usually watch Jackie Chan films but it isn't hard to imagine that with a better script he must be good in them.I bought the film largely because someone had mentioned that Jennifer Love Hewitt looked "smoking hot" in it.She does indeed. So if you want to spend 90 minutes looking at a beautiful woman then this is definitely the film for you.

1.0 out of 5 stars Probably Chan's very worst film 30 July 2009
By Trevor Willsmer HALL OF FAME TOP 50 REVIEWER
Format:DVD
With the exception of Shanghai Noon and the first Rush Hour film, Jackie Chan hasn't been well served by his US films, but even with severely lowered standards this is just terrible - not just the worst of his American films but quite possibly his very worst film, period. Having seen Around the World in 80 Days and Rush Hour 2 that's not something I'd say lightly, but this spy comedy that sees his accidental spy (no relation to his earlier film of that title) fitted out with a gadget packed tuxedo that turns him into a superhero is just dire. The whole concept of a CGI-enhanced Jackie Chan completely misses the point of Jackie Chan films - you see them (or used to) because there was no CGi. To add insult to injury, Jennifer Love Hewitt's character is just offensive, mistaking acting like a cheerleader for the KKK as charming and witty opposites attract banter (more the writer's fault than hers, but she plays it plain nasty). It does have a neat Maguffin (water that makes you thirsty) and the means of distributing it is ingenious, but the film around it is just horrendous - and boring with it. A big no no.

4.0 out of 5 stars Watch it for the bloopers alone! 7 May 2009
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
The film's not bad, but not his best work. Jenny's lovely, but I watched the bloopers over and over again, she's a scream! Ever had one of those times when you can't breath for laughing so hard? She has too, and you will when you see our Jen lose it over and over with Jackie taking the mick out of her when she does!!

If not for the bloopers, I'd have given it 3 stars, but they are some of the best i've seen for infectious laughter! See also Meet the Fockers bloopers, and Two Weeks Notice. Sandy loses it so brilliantly! She's my ideal woman!

I like Jackie Chan films even though he seems to have difficulty with English. His earlier films were dubbed which is a bit off putting so I would rather have him this way. Read more

This is a DVD not to be missed and one Jackie Chan's best action movies. The Dvd arrived in pristine condition and I can fully recommend getting your own copy.
