Book Description

8 Jun 2013 Atlas Anti-Classics
The Tutu is a genuine literary mystery: a lost masterpiece. Published in 1891, it never made it to bookshops. Its existence was only revealed in 1966, by a famous literary hoaxer. It is the ultimate """"decadent novel"""", but also outlandishly modern; it is excessive, repellent, infantile and riotously funny. Yet despite its absurdities, its eccentricities and its extravagance, in the end it somehow manages to appear compassionate, poetic, tender... even rational.

this book reads as if it was written today!! it is such a shame that it never got the attention in the era it was written in. i would put this book up with Baudelaire and Voltare.
you are going to love this book. and it is great to support a small press doing such great releases .
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing 20 Feb 2014

I had no idea this existed. It's surely a twisted, satirical and obscene view of his time and culture. But, like all great writers, he wraps everything up in a magical and entertaining prose and story(no matter how wonderfully disjointed it becomes). This is a must-read for any lover of French modern literature(Celine).
