A highly recommendable guide for discovering Tuscany,
By A Customer
This review is from: Landscapes of Tuscany (Sunflower Countryside Guides) (Paperback)
This is a highly recommendable and very useful guide for discovering Tuscany. The layout of the book with tour descriptions being presented side by side with - but clearly distinguished from - additional and very interesting background informations and historical episodes makes this guide extremely user-friendly. The book contains a lot of very useful general as well as tour-specific practical hints which often save time and efforts. Of valuable practical help for orientation during the walks are the precise intermediate-time marks (they lose their lack-of-spontaneity-flavor completely during the trip!) and indications not only where about to go but also which way or path to ignore: nothing can go wrong! The tour descriptions are extraordinary precise - and precision is well balanced with enjoyment: it seems that just like an impressionist painter the author writes in open air and lets you share with her the enthusiasm about intensity of lights and colors of landscapes but by the same time leaves you the freedom to make your own experiences. This guide is useful for people going to Tuscany for a short trip as well as for those who are planning to stay longer. There is so much to see in Tuscany but you can trust that choosing any of the trips and walks from this guide is always a right choice.

The best walking guide book for one of the most beautiful regions in Italy,
This review is from: Tuscany (Landscapes) (Paperback)
I used this book mainly for the area North of Florence (i.e. walks 1 - 10), especially the Alpi Apuane region. This is a region of extreme beauty. The walks are well researched and well written. Those who want to fully experience the Italian countryside must have this book. I only wished I had more time to continue to do the walks described in this book

Great walking guide Tuscany,
By Jan Almere "Jan Almere" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Tuscany (Landscapes) (Paperback)
My girlfriend and I are Italy enthusiasts and walking fanatics. Italian walking paths are not always well kept, or end unexpected. There are also not many good walking guides for Italy. But this guide is really an exception. The well described tours take you to places were the general tourist of this most visited part of Italy never comes. You will find a wealth of information to prepare your trip well, like good maps, grades and distances of the hikes, availability of local transport and appetizing photos. I would like to recommend this guide to all Tuscany lovers who would like to see more than the Duomo in Florence!

Up and down Tuscany,
By Insatiable Traveler - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Tuscany (Landscapes) (Paperback)
What a great little guide! It really packs a punch in such a small package. If you like touring countryside and picnicking in great settings - this is a perfect travel companion for you. And when you want to stretch your legs it shows you where to park and get close and personal with beautiful Tuscan scenery - the walks are just incredible.
