When used as a PC gaming headset, the PX21 functions as two independent headsets in one package: Amplified Stereo Headphones: The green 3.5mm plug is used for sending the stereo game signal from the PC sound card to the PX21 headphone amplifier so you can hear game sounds, music and other sounds from your PC. The overall volume level is set by the Game volume control on the PX21 amplifier. USB Stereo Headset: The USB connection is used for mic and chat signals and appears as “Turtle Beach USB Headset” in Windows operating systems. This lets you assign the PX21 mic and chat in your game software as a USB audio device. You can set the microphone and chat levels independently with the Windows mixer software, as described elow. After configuring these volume settings, you can set the chat level with the Chat volume control on the PX21 amplifier. Note that each time you disconnect the PX21 from the USB port, the volume settings described below may revert back to their default settings. As such, you might have to go back and set them again each time you remove and insert the PX21 USB connector. |

Very clear set of headphones, extremely comfortable to wear, mike is easily adjusted and friends report the sound is good at the other end. Only slight negative is the amount of wires trailing all over the place but worth it considering what you get in return

This headset is brilliant espcially if you like a late night game or two and dont want to wake the rest of the house but still want to hear whats going on around espicially for online multiplayer games such as 'socom cod' The sound quality is amazing saved my life a few times now on socom when i now hear people creeping up behind me.
They chat because it is through USB is crystal clear compared to bluetooth what a diffrence.
The cables are very long you connect it up using the playstation cable that comes with the ps3 I have my sound goto my TV through HDMI and sound goto the headset via the red and white cables from the original ps cable which also has a pass through so I can still connect to hifi at the same time so dont neeed to play about with wires.
You just set your ps3 to have multi sound output so it can also goto your tv at the same time so you dont need to change settings all the time.
Iv found since I bought this headset I use it even when i dont need to be quiet as it gives you such an advantage this may be diffrent if you have surround sound set up in your house I dont.
Would reccomend for any gamer that wants a headset with built in chat.

ive had this headset for about a week i find this headset superb ive read a lot of people moaning about a hissing sound sound i dont agree you hear a slight noise but i dont agree its too loud. the headset it self is a brilliant design there is better headset out there like the astro a40 but its gonna cost you but there more suited if youre professional gamer.i would definitely recommend turtle beach p21 for general use. highly recimmended and you can hear people coming up beside you ,etc cheers john.

I find ps3 chat is crap, however with this headset its no problem. Simply plug usb into pc and go on skype then the 3.5mm jack into your tv sound and boom. Read more
