TURNON: SPORTS: THE BEST IN EROTIC SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHY is a well-titled book. In a very fine Introduction by Luke Lalor, Director of Periscope Creative, Berlin the concept for the universal and historical appeal of athletic events and the heroes of past and present who are athlete idols is outlined, preparing the reader for the wide variety of sports presented here and the hint that the models chosen will represent the athlete in action, before an event, in locker rooms, but the sea, in the gym, on the field, coupled with symbols of their trade (headgear, soccer balls, etc), and in varying arrays of full to barely dressed!
But nothing could prepare the reader for the detailed magnificence of the photographs within the pages of this huge book. In both black and white and color the works of 26 photographers are shown, and as is becoming the practice of publisher Bruno Gmünder Verlag, each artist is given multiple pages to show their best examples of Trunon Sports, and each is given a brief but very informative biography. The photographers honored in this conclave are Rick Day, Joseph Sinclair, Richard Gerst, Patrick Mettraux, Tom Cullis, Michael Stokes, David Arnot, Hetor Rodriguez, Kartl Giant, Joan Crisol, Domenico Cennamo, Zoran Trifunavic, Norbert Benike, Louis Daniel Botha, Tim Ricks, Krunnch, Troy Phillips and Akimitsu Sadoi, Serge Forcet, Pedro Virgil, Marcus Mok, Mark Henderson, Gaz, Edward Olen, Jason T. Jaskot, and Kemuel Valdez. An impressive selection - and an even more impressive array of models and art. This is a coffee table book for every home. Celebrate the magnificence of athletes.
