Product Description

Up till now you might have thought you knew exactly who you were and what you wanted out of life. Or you might never have given it any serious thought - you were too busy having fun. Suddenly, though, you're questioning everything. Is this all there is? Why haven't I got it together? My career hasn't turned out like I thought it would. All my friends are settling down - but I'm still single! Sound familiar? Maybe you're going through what psychologists term the 'quarterlife crisis', the period between the ages of 28 and 34 when nothing seems like it's falling into place. Suddenly, turning 30 seems like the biggest hurdle you've ever had to leap. Why is it so tough, and can you do anything about it? The answer is yes. Psychologists and life coaches Sheila Panchal and Ellen Jackson know what it's like, and in Turning 30 they've come up with the ultimate antidote to your turning 30 blues. Packed with case studies, questionnaires, tips and goal-setting exercises, it shows you how to examine every area of your life - from career to relationships, money, health and family. You'll re-examine your values and learn how to turn your dreams into practical ideas for leading the life want.

As well as giving interesting information, this book provides a range of really useful exercises to help you make important decisions about your life direction. By helping you create a vision for your future, analyse your strengths and set goals, the activities laid out in the book support reflection and action in important areas of your life. They enable you to analyse what you want and where you are going as you enter your 30s - but would be equally applicable to moments of transition at other ages.

The authors manage to make the subject matter meaningful and entertaining - adding humourous elements that make the book easy to read and follow. The result is a positive and lighthearted guide to some pretty serious issues. The reader is challenged, but supported and encouraged.

Definitely a good read for anyone wanting to take a long hard positive look at their life, what they want out of life and where they are going.

This is a great book for getting through what the authors call the quarterlife crisis. It walks you through how to survive this hazardous age and come out the other side with everything beginning to fall into place.

I read the book a little dubiously as I've not read much like this in the past. But I found it entertaining, very useful and extremely well-timed! There are a lot of case studies of people that sound just like my friends, as well as various exercises that get you to reflect on your career, relationships friends and family.

Read it if you thought that you're life would be sorted by now and much to your chagrin it isn't!

This book provides an excellent practical guide to turning 30. It is relevant and straight to the point, targeting key areas of your life, such as work and relationships. It has thought-provoking exercises to do as you go along, so it's more like a workbook than a quick read, but if you're anxious about turning 30 and want to tackle your fears head-on, then this is the book for you - it's the next best thing to seeing a life coach in person and much cheaper!
