5.0 out of 5 stars An Extraordinary Autobiography 17 Sep 2010
By sandman
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Michael Clive 'Micky' Burn passed away on 3rd September 2010 aged 97. This Autobiography was first published in 2003 and it is a joy to read. To say he had an interesting and eventful life is the understatement of the year. Right up until he died he was collaborating with film-makers who have been producing a documentary that is eagerly awaited and which it is hoped will bring his story to a wider audience. In the meantime we have this wonderful book which takes us into a mind and life-experience like no other. The style of writing is engaging almost conversational, bursting with intellect and full of affection and feeling for the people he encountered, above all his wife Mary. RIP Micky Burn and thank you for leaving us your story.

This is the life story of one of the most gallant soldiers in British history and the events of his life that lead up to the battle during which more Victoria Cross were awarded than in any other battle in UK history.

Book arrived a couple of days late. I thought it was shockingly expensive. However it was a new copy of an out of print book and I was pleased to be able to obtain it at all. Arrived in good condition.
