This is a Must Read. Don't miss it!, 12 Feb 2004

This review is from: Turn on Your Inner Light: Fitness for Body, Mind and Soul (Hardcover)
I was looking for some fresh ideas in stress-management. While I was searching the internet, I discovered Debbie Mandel's site on
www.BellaonLine.com. She has a lot of articles posted there on current issues and I really liked what she had to say and the way she said it, a bit differently. Then I saw her book, Turn On Your Inner Light and I bought it. I loved the way the book had 29 specific chapters and gave me strategies for my mind, body, and spirit- the whole me. I started doing the exercises, imaged the visualizations and began to reinterpret the negatives in my life into positives. I'm not on a diet, but I am eating healthier and more frequently as the book recommends. I have more energy and I am doing things, getting out there instead of sitting by the phone and waiting. Like Debbie writes, "I made up my mind to be reasonably happy." The key word as she puts it is reasonable. People need to find out about Debbie Mandel.

It Helped Me See Beyond Cancer, 12 Jan 2005
By Empowered in NY - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Turn on Your Inner Light: Fitness for Body, Mind and Soul (Hardcover)
I read and followed the steps to freedom outlined in Turn On Your Inner Light. I truly learned how to live after my battle with cancer. I was treated like a little lab rat, spoken about like I was invisible, lost my job, my husband and even custody of my two children. Turn On Your Inner Light showed me that I could do so much more than just survive, I could thrive.
I followed Debbie Mandel's easy to follow suggestions including starting an exercise program. So I began to look at my own world differently. I began by taking control. If I didn't respect myself, who would? I began with the visiting nurse. I easily told her that if she didn't respect me as a human being, I would request another. The nurse's attitude quickly changed. What Happened? The nurse quickly felt my self-respect and responded accordingly. I also exercised my visitation rights and was reunited with my children. And finally and most wonderfully, I am now practicing law again and am having a romance with life.
I took back my power! And if I did it, you can do it!!

It helped me see the light!, 10 Sep 2003

My friend gave me a gift while I was going through an unpleasant divorce and had put on about twenty pounds of frustration. Her gift to me was a book called, Turn On Your Inner Light. I said, "Who is Debbie Mandel and who is she to tell me how to find my balance?" My friend said, "Take it," and closed the door. The book looked pretty enough, so I flipped through the chapters. Unlike any self-help book I had read by the famous people, this book was divided into specific topics. I didn't have to read 200 pages before I knew what to do. I was anxious enough. So I first read the chapter, "Training for Divorce" and I liked the original mind/body prescriptions telling me how to take care of myself, support myself and develop myself. Then I did the workouts and I felt better, especially the one called, "Ducking the blows of recrimination." I finished off with a meditation and I put myself together. I felt lighter and happier. I knew that I would get over this. Then I read the chapter "Training to Love Yourself." I followed her advice. I did the meditation and began to do her interval training workout. At first I did it at the beginner level, now I am advanced. I don't know how much weight I lost, because I threw out my scale, but I went down two dress sizes! Next I read the chapter on "Anger Management," "Burnout," "Insomnia," and "Disappointment." I loved the chapter on "Romance," Intimacy." Now I am up to "The Bedroom." I gave the book to my new boyfriend-I want to start this relationship off right. Turn On Your Inner Light helped me to find my spark and gave me confidence. Now I know who Debbie Mandel is and why she wrote this book. Whoever reads Turn On Your Inner Light will have a powerful life coach.
