Product Description

From Amazon.com

The second generation of SoCal ska kids didn't take themselves too seriously, it seems, not when the self-deprecating "Sell Out" was the big single that propelled Turn the Radio Off up the charts. According to the cover, the album was "Sanitized for Your Protection," and that was close to the truth--bubbly pop melodies with a ska beat and plenty of horns, all catchy and decidedly goofy and inoffensive. The thing was, it worked. Reel Big Fish could play, they could write, and sing. And they pushed ska's profile even higher. The glistening, airy foam on the Third Wave. Chris Nickson

Fantastic 7 Nov 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
This, I feel, is Reel Big Fish's best work. Although a lot of the songs are taken from their previous release, Everything Sucks, they have been completely re-recorded, and it came out a treat. Many of the songs on this album are live favourites, and really do show what Reel Big Fish are all about. Stand-out songs include Beer, Everything Sucks, Trendy, She has a Girlfriend Now, and the anthemic Sellout. If you like Less Than Jake, Mad Caddies, or just love lively, jumpy ska-punk, then YOU NEED THIS RECORD!!!!

What a Comical Album 28 Sep 2002
Format:Audio CD
This is a great album, each tune is catchy and you'll be singing it for days. There are some great lines in the lyrics.

Towards the end, it starts to draw away from the comical ska and goes more quiet and not as upbeat. Shame. Still, lots of great tracks and the album is rythmically excellent. Well worth its price!

I first heard Reel Big Fish's third album,Why Do They Rock So Hard, and thought it was one of the best cds I'd ever heard... until I listened to Turn The Radio Off. Orange County's finest are on top form here, with some of the best horn lines ever recorded. Songs range from the jokey 'Trendy', to the pensive 'I'll Never Be', and the just plain hilarious 'She Has A Girlfriend Now'. If you are a fan of ska and don't have this album, then buy it. If you are new to the ska-punk scene, then this album is a perfect initiation.
