TuneUp Utilities 2011 is the fifth version of this software I've used since 2006 and each year it gets slightly better. Although there are a number of free programmes, from the likes of Piriform and Auslogics, which cover the main maintenance tasks on your PC I've always found it worth getting the TuneUp product as it's a one-stop-shop for comprehensive care.
I downloaded the software from TuneUps website as I find it quicker, and it is also fully up-to-date and bug-free, then activated it with the code for the CD - buying the CD from Amazon is usually cheaper than buying direct from TuneUp! The download spotted I already had the 2010 version and uninstalled it first, but left the activation code for that version so I could re-install it simply, if required, in the future.
The 2011 version will work with Windows XP, Vista and 7 - earlier versions will work with earlier versions of Windows. The new hook for this years version is allowing the disabling of programmes without having to uninstall them thereby making your computer faster. All the features from previous versions seem to be present and correct, although the interface has been changed yet again!
I use this software very frequently and it will also perform automatic functions by itself if you want it to. I would be lost without it now and I have tried this version with Windows XP and 7 with good results. TuneUp let you trial it for 15 days if you download it from them and I would suggest trying it yourself and if you like it buy the CD from Amazon for around twelve quid to get your activation code!

I've used Tune up Utilities before - it was the 2009 version, so I knew what to expect and I wasn't let down.
One of the things I like about this is the packaging, at least Royal Mail can get it through my letter box and I don't have to go to the sorting office to get it.
So loading up. Simple, stick the CD in and away it goes, it pretty much loads itself, you need to put the serial number in first before it loads. It loads within a few minutes and didn't clash with anything.
Running it is a breeze too. There are two options, you can either run the full program or you can use the one click system. The one click system is probably the one you are going to use once you have set up the full system. Now, I already had a PC tune up system on my laptop but it wasn't from PX Software. The previous one seemed to do a good job and cleared quite a lot of rubbish out of my system. However, after running the one click program it found a shed load of files that the other one missed.
Anyway, getting onto the main feature. You can set it up so it scans at intervals, either every 3, 5, 7, 10 or 14 days, when your computer is in idle or you can set it up to run on schedule so at a set time on a set day (or everyday). You can also select the tasks you want to undertake, cleaning and fixing the registry, defrag the registry, removing broken shortcuts and lots more.
It also lets you know how you can improve your performance by altering the way Windows displays things, the colours used etc with the aim of making your PC leaner and quicker.
One of the new features is you can turn off programs when the PC starts up, so you can get rid of Adobe checking for updates. It also has a turbo mode which automatically shuts down over 70 background processes which frees up space when you are playing games.
Once you have run your tune up it shows you how well your PC is running and what you should do to make it run even better.
And of course with this being a new piece of software it runs on Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit), it also runs on Windows XP and Vista. It can be used on PCs, notebooks and netbooks.
Have to say this is a bargain price and really cleaned up my system. Highly recommend this.

I am not writing this review to deliver information on what this does etc. Merely to say that in my 20 years experience of PC maintenance and management, I rate Tune Up as a must buy. It really does make your computer faster and more stable and does it in a way that does not baffle the non-techie. Coupled with a reliable Antivirus and you have a robust PC setup. great value!
