I found this book very slow to begin with and was tempted to do something I have NEVER before done with a book and that was to skip forward a few pages. However, as I thought the writing style was good, I persevered and I'm pleased that I did; once I got past about 20% I did get more involved with the main character so was more interested in the book.
I have some friends in the legal professions and I thought some of her details about her chambers were odd and so did they when I asked, but that aside, it's still worth reading. The emotional scenes are well-written and the reader follows Caroline on her rollercoaster ride through life and as it gets towards the end it makes for compulsive reading. It is an interesting enough story once it gets into its stride and I did enjoy it.
