The Tumbler,

This review is from: The Tumbler: A 16-year-old Boy's Live Chronicle of Auschwitz, Belsen, Hanover, Hildesheim, Wolgsberg and Wustegiersdorf Nazi Death Camps (Paperback)
A story from an Auschwitz survivor who felt that as he has become older he and others who have survived the death camp and all that went with it, have a duty to record the events before its too late.
The author wrote about his experiences so honestly - he gives us some detail at the end of his life with his wife and I am grateful to know that he managed to live his life so well with his family - despite everything.

To read a book that deals with the Holocaust is intimidating. Reading this book, however, has no such effect: in a lively manner, with cynicism and without any self importance, the author tells his unbelievable story. This is an amazing novel of a 16 year old boy, who lives through a year of hell on earth, in which he loses everything he has, but his identity. The story of his surviving almost diminishes when compared to the strength needed in rebuilding his life again. A must read book!

The Tumbler,

This review is from: The Tumbler: A 16-year-old Boy's Live Chronicle of Auschwitz, Belsen, Hanover, Hildesheim, Wolgsberg and Wustegiersdorf Nazi Death Camps (Paperback)
This book is very well written. It lets you feel the horrors of that era on every page. The story line moves you to go on reading very skillfully and you cannot help but root for the hero to somehow make it. It is a fascinating read and I highly recommend it. I hope we'll see more books written by this author.
Eva.
