Let me say first of all that my "Tuff-Luv Topcoat Enhanced Screen protection for Amazon Kindle Global Wireless" was given to me free by the vendor as a goodwill gesture for delivering my Tuff-Luv leather flip case for my Kindle 3 a couple of days late, though sooner than expected. (The case is reviewed here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tuff-Luv-Traditional-Leather-Wireless-generation/dp/B0041KZ3RK/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1287979328&sr=8-5 ) I looked at Tuff-Luv's screen protector when I ordered the Kindle and the case, decided it was too expensive, and got something cheaper which didn't work (it was all bubbles that wouldn't go away -- pretty frustrating).

The "Tuff-Luv Topcoat Enhanced Screen Protection" is in a different class altogether. It is a stiff, thick film that would be difficult to apply wrong. Nor is it difficult to apply at all. In fact the most irritating thing about it is the surfeit of packaging to keep the glued side from picking up dirt before you get it on the screen, and the fact that the price is bumped up by the inclusion of an unnecessary smoothing plastic scraper in its own dedicated glassene envelope.

The instructions aren't brilliant, so I'll give a little detail. First wash your hands thoroughly and spread a clean kitchen towel or some such, then clean the screen of the Kindle thoroughly with the supplied microfibre wipe, then put the wipe down beside the Kindle ready to use again in a minute. Now take the outer cardboard packaging away from the Protector. You can leave the plastic scraper in its pocket on the cardboard outer; it is surplus to requirements. You're left with a glassene envelope inside which appears to be a yellow sticker. The Protector is inside the envelope but very hard to see; it is stuck to the yellow sticker.

When I was a new Kindle user, I bought the Topcoat Enhanced Screen protector to look after my Kindle. I'm a careful user but didn't want an accident to ruin the screen. I laboured over the various options and eventually settled on this product.
In short, after fitting the topcoat, I found the glare from lights problematic and removed it within 10 minutes of reading (see below for details or fitting and glare). It's clear that it would protect the screen but I wouldn't recommend this topcoat. I haven't tried other products, settling myself to be get a replacement if I damage the screen.

Fitting the topcoat: I'd read mixed reviews on the fitting of the coat. The size was fine, the instructions were brief (having never fitted one before, I would have liked more detail), but I didn't have too much trouble. It fitted cleanly, without bubbles, and looked fine.

Lighting and glare: In regular daylight or evenly lit environments reading was fine but with a direct light source from a globe or even overhead fluorescent lights, I found the glare distracting, and continually move the Kindle to move the position of the glare when reading. I didn't manage 10 minutes before deciding to remove the topcoat. I decided that it was nice to have a protected screen but for the hassle I experienced, I'd carry on being careful. I'd previously bought a protective case for transport so I'd be okay. Months later I'm not regretting the decision and haven't had any accidents.

The Screen protector has a protective Film on each side , Remove only the adhesive side First , Be Careful When positioning , Remove the Top protective Film ONLY after you've Finished ! A Quality Product !
