Quite a heavy read and not as appealing as I had hoped for my daughter's age group, but it did arrive quickly and it is a substantial read.

Great historical diary entries. It is necessary to read ahead though to ensure all bits are suitable for the reader, especially if it is being used by KS2.

This book is made up of two stories together, beginning with the story of a friend, and court member of Catherine of Aragon, and ending with her daughter's story of life with Anne Boleyn. It is well written, and really sets the scene of Tudor England. However, I found the second story less enjoyable, as it leads on from the first, but with a different narrator, or character. This almost pushes the people you got to know in the first story into the background, which made it harder for me to enjoy.
