Product Description

As King Raven, Bran is Lord of the Forest. But his true crown seems out of reach. Bran is still fighting to bring his people justice from the shadows of the green wood. But Abbot Hugo is used to playing the long game and has been watching - and learning. Abbot Hugo plans to bring soldiers from the invading Norman army to the forest in force, heralding the start of a campaign to wipe out King Raven and his band once and for all. Their merciless attack, the first of many, marks a dark day for the realm. And the dream of seeing a true king take the throne of Elfael seems increasingly remote. Bran and his few stalwarts desperately need encouragement and reinforcement if they are to survive. But Friar Tuck, a most unconventional priest, may just have a solution to their dilemma ...

I have really enjoyed the three books in the series and Tuck was a very fitting conclusion. Lawhead has taken a well trod fable and added a real and well thought out new dimension to it. His obvious deep understanding of old Britain is once again bought out in this fast paced book. Go ahead, buy them and enjoyTuck (King Raven Trilogy)Scarlet (King Raven Trilogy)Hood

This book was supplied in good time for the celebration for which it was required. It was handed to me at the door in a dry state, undamaged.

This is the final part of the King Raven Trilogy following on from Hood and Scarlett.

It is the reimagining of the Robin Hood legend set in Wales during the reign of William Rufus.

If these books weren't about Robin Hood I probably wouldn't have read them. I'm not a big fan of Stephen Lawhead and the only one of his books that I've read and enjoyed was Patrick: Son of Ireland.

I found the books long and over complicated, there were too many similar characters. There were many plot threads and characters in the three books that were hard to keep track of.

The basic premise was good but it would have been better if the trilogy had been turned into one novel.

I've got Adam Thorpes' 'Hodd' to read next, another re-imagining of Robin Hood and I look forward to seeing how that story compares to this.
