A failure to appreciate this epidemiological factor is the cause of much confusion in the treatment and care of tuberculosis in the United Kingdom.

Dr surinder Bakhshi qualified in medicine at Makerere Medical School, Uganda and then pursued further medical studies at the University of Michigan, USA, Dundee Medical Schhol. SCotand. Dr Bakhshi is a fellow of The Faculty of Public Health Medicine, London. He retird after a career in the field of Communicable Disaese Control at consultant level in the NHS,UK. Dr Bakhshi specialised in the control of tuberculosis and this book represents his experience in this field in developed countries.
