Product Description

Product Description

A guide to pregnancy after suffering the loss of an infant, miscarriage, or stillbirth. Issues discussed include: the facts about pregnancy loss and neonatal death; how to determine if you're ready for another pregnancy; common fertility myths; support after you've decided to tell people you're pregnant again; and prenatal testing risks and benefits. The book offers a helping hand to women coping with their loss and at the same time contemplating future pregnancies. It also offers insights into "high-risk" pregnancies, understanding each trimester's common concerns, anticipating labour, dealing with a subsequent loss, deciding whether to try again, and honouring the baby you lost while loving the baby in your arms.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute "must" for people who have suffered miscarriage etc, 16 Jan 2001
By A Customer
After losing my first baby at 13 weeks of pregnany due to what is termed as "missed abortion" (the baby dying in the womb but not detected until ultrasound scan etc) I was absolutely desperate for information. This book has it all! From when can I start to try again, through to all your emotions after the event. It is very easy to read and I did not put the book down until I had read every word! If you are looking for that all to often "non-existant" reason as to why your baby died, then this book may well provide some answers and help you in your hour of need. I would thoroughly recommend it. Prepare to shed a tear or two as you identify with what other people have been through!

2.0 out of 5 stars trying again, 17 Sep 2003
By A Customer
i bought 2 books relating to the subject of pregnancy loss. unfortunately i didn't find this book particularly helpful. it read very much like a text book, filling your head with far too many other things that can go wrong. i just felt that if you are buying this book then you already have a fare idea what can go wrong...it doesn't need spelling out. to be honest rather than find it reassuring i found it scared me and was written in a cold manner.
with that in mind, it does have some useful things to look out for when you want to try again, such as when you are ovulating, but that was the only thing in the book of any use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Empowerment at its best!! A reference book for future hope., 27 Nov 2000
I bought this book when you feel you want answers to your tradgedy and need to find the strength to move on. This book gives you that strength. It provides knowledge, empowers you to take cotrol and inspires you with new hope. The books helps you to cope, it wont stop your greif, nothing will but does allow forward thinking and helps alleviate your worries. It tackles issues you may not even have considered and shows you how to deal with them. This helps prepare you for what sometimes seems like ignorance of other people. Thanks to the authors for their straight, comprehensive information, I hope it can help you as it continues to help me.
