Delicious recipes for home-cooked baby food from the founders of the award-winning organic baby food brand, Truuuly Scrumptious

Product Description

Like all parents, Topsy Fogg and Janice Fisher wanted to give their babies the best possible start in life. And like Jamie Oliver before them, they realised that the best start begins with what they give their children to eat.

Topsy and Janice are the founders of the award-winning organic baby food brand, Truuuly Scrumptious, a delicious range of homestyle, top-quality food for babies aged six months through to toddlers. In this beautifully illustrated book, Topsy and Janice share their scrumptious recipes to ensure that parents give their babies all the essential nutrients that are vital for healthy growth and development. They also explain how to wean babies; why going organic is best; and how to source, prepare and cook the best-quality ingredients.

From vitamin-packed first stage purées such as butternut squash and broccoli through more substantial meals such as lamb and apricot casserole to finger foods such as carrot, courgette and cheese muffins, these recipes are so tasty parents will be making extra portions for themselves too!

If you're anything like me and want to make food for your little one with things like butternut Ssquash or beetroot but haven't got a clue what to do with them then this is definitely the book for you - in fact even if you don't this is a fab book!!

All the recipes i've made have been delicious, and as the recipes are for several portions it means you can freeze some saving you time later on. My only regret is that i didn't find this book sooner, this would be fantastic to start out weaning with. Needless to say that this cookbook will still be around long after my little one has grown up.

Fantastically scrumptious food thats healthy too - you can't go wrong.

I recently purchased this book, along with a few other cookbooks on organic baby food. As it was one of the higher priced and recently published books from the collection I ordered I had high expectations but was rather dissapointed.

In the description it mentions "beautifully illustrated", and I was dissapointed to find only a few little pictures of peas or carrots etc. (No illustations of the actual meals themselves.)

This would be nice book for first time parents/cooks, who are totally unfamiliar with an organic lifestyle.

For example there are several pages dedicated to the most simple recipies that surely don't need half a page to describe. (Take 2 carrots, steam and purree.) So far the most useful recepies from this book I have found is their vegetable stock recipie.

In general I am rather open minded, and enjoy almost all books I can get my hands on, but unfotunately for me this one just didn't satisfy the senses. Perhaps I may feel more excited once I start cooking the more "advanced recipes"

Thus to conculde, A nice, basic book for first timers (as mothers, organic lifestylers and cooks.)
But if you already have other organic baby cook books, I reccomend lending this book from the library or a friend before making the investment in the book itself.

I was given this book just before I started weaning my little boy, and followed the advice on how and when to start weaning. I found the advice helpful and straightforward, but without being too "preachy" like some of the other books. The recipes are tasty (baby has to fight Daddy for the lentil bake) and foolproof, even for someone who isn't the best cook in the world! Highly recommended.
