Had this album on vinyl when it first came out and loved the messages of hope, politics, awareness and the rights just to be as a teenager in the 80's. having just bought it on CD it all came flooding back. Having grown up (somehwat ) I feel the album is better now and it has more context certainly for me. It's not all disco! There are a range of styles. Hit that Perfect Beat is a shameless dance tune to get you going, Truth dare Double dare is deliciously campy Bond type of sound, C'Mon C'mon is joyous , upbeat, shout it fromt he roof tops type of number. Punishment for Love sounds like it should be an Erasure number, We Know How it Feels is possibly the weakest link, a slower number commenting ont he state of gay love which although the sentiment is there, is a bit cringy in the sincerity- ( sorry guys). The rest ofthe album is pretty good and with a couple of 12" on there, you can't go wrong. Definitely one for nostalgia but still pretty upbeat, I wish they had put Cha Cha heels on as an extra track!!!!
