If the ordinary person had met a fraction of the people he'd met, done the things he'd done they'd think they were lucky. A facinating life that has not been lived by half measures. Read it and enjoy.

WOW-( in capitlat letters) 4 Mar 2003
By p-man - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
first of all i did not know who this guy was before i picked the book. i read the prologe just to check it out. lets just say the words just grabed my throat and pulled me into the book.... i am serious guys this is an amazing book...beautiful.

" what the hell is this about?" ok ok it starts at the begining of his life...soon you will notice the way he describe the secenes and events are both beatuiful and humorous.. and then you will discover his honesty, unparallel to any other author i know, for egxample how he got confused and angry at his father after seeing him having sex with his mother....

the book ends with his philosophy which is very admiarable and interesting. this book will change your life there is no question about it. i mean this guy wrote this book when he was around late 80's he has seen so much in history. He was friends with neheru, indra ghandi, and other leaders in the world...and the most elite and famous writers of different generations...and he writes in this killer honesty, even about his first sexual eprerience".. respectability and honesty: not a combination you will encounter very often. this book will add new color to your life.

Thoroughly engaging read 1 Aug 2007

Any reader of the Press in India will be familiar with Khushwant Singh, but as a Westerner, I had never heard of him. This book engages the reader from the very first page, and reminded me in some ways of the "Autobiography of an Unknown Indian."
Worth a read! 8 Aug 2011

An honest novel. Kushwanth singh novels always appealed readers. His writing style has been the most compelling. He talks about his childhood memories, first sexual encounter, his wife and his life at various news agencies. He also talks about his relationship with the Gandhi's. This book is infact a tribute to all the relationships he had created over a period of 80 odd years which includes his relationship with his dog .

Kushwant Singh, as people believe, has the best sense of humour, this book does live up to it. Must read if you are an indian, not for patriotism, but there are many things that you could relate to. Worth a read!!!
