Product Description

Triple bill featuring three popular comedy movies. In 'The Truth About Cats and Dogs' (1996), Abby (Janeane Garafalo) is a plucky radio vet who dispenses advice on pet care on her weekly phone-in show. When a caller (Ben Chaplin) falls for the sound of her voice, Abby is excited that there might be a chance for romance in her life, but she does not feel confident enough to follow it through. What she does instead is arrange for a date with the interested party using her beautiful neighbour Noelle (Uma Thurman) as a stand-in, an unwise idea which leads to many comic and romantic complications. In 'Kissing Jessica Stein' (2002), New York journalist Jessica Stein (Jennifer Westfeldt) is about to give up on her search for Mr Right when a personal ad featuring a quote from Rilke catches her eye. Jessica replies to the ad and is surprised to discover that it was placed by a woman, Helen Cooper (Heather Juergensen). The pair meet, get on well, and their first date ends with a kiss; in no time at all they are confirmed soul-mates, but where the relationship goes from here is anybody's guess. In 'Hope Floats' (1997), Birdee's (Sandra Bullock) seemingly perfect marriage is shattered when her husband admits to infidelity on national TV. Returning to her hometown with her young daughter to lick her wounds, Birdee slowly begins to regain faith in her fellow man and construct a new life.

4.0 out of 5 stars hope floats... 8 July 2010
By Kiki
I bought this package for the film Hope Floats and although, normally I wouldn't buy this kind of DVDs, I am well pleased, I got a lot of viewing for little money. Great deal therefore and recommendable for 'that' evening in with no intention of re-making the world :)
