Truth About Getting Things Done by Mark Fritz is a handy reference book for those who want to get the most from their lives and their careers.

Conveniently organised into nine parts focusing on factors such as Goals and Outcomes, Beliefs and Character or Potential and Growth, Mark consolidates proven ideas from his own experience with the best from his study of how the most successful people get things done.

The book is beautifully presented and easy to navigate. It can be read from cover to cover in one sitting or a chapter at a time when advice on a certain subject is required. Mark's plain writing sets out all the information you need to lead a successful life.

The 'Truth' might be out there somewhere, but I didn't find it in this book. Looking at the other reviews I actually wonder if I read the same book. For a start, 50% of the book is 'white (or black) space' - each chapter (or 'Truth') has a matt black 'cover' page with the 'Truth' is large purple letters. When you turn the page, the 'Truth' itself is usually on the next two facing pages and the reverse of the second page is usually blank. Even though each chapter is very short there is an alarming degree of repetition within each one - it reminded me of the old adage about presentations; "Tell them what you're going to tell them, Tell them, Tell them what you told them". After a few of these I found myself 'speed reading'. There was the odd minor enlightenment, but on the whole I found this book frustrating.

Disappointing 23 Nov 2011

Format:Paperback
A bit dissapointing. The approach does not work for me and the title 'The truth about ....' is not covering it for me. Furthermore, the theme is drawn out. A 10-20 pager would suffice. There is no depth to it either. Comparing it to David Allens GTD - that book rises way above this book.
