Product Description

This text looks at drug abuse, with such topics as: why people use drugs; pro-cannabis versus anti-tobacco campaigns; how drugs impact the brain; the role of genes and personality; why governments are scared of prevention; and legalisation - disaster or the only way forward?

From the Author

In depth analysis of the drugs problem and how to tackle it
Illegal drugs are now 8% of all international trade. 1.75 million pupils in British schools have taken them and 1% of all those leaving US high schools have tried heroin in the last year. What's the answer?

This book is a fast-moving, well researched practical guide to drug and alcohol addiction, the costs to society, prevention and treatment. What can governments, companies, schools, parents and indidividuals do? Latest research on long term effects of cannabis and other drugs. Latest news on workplace random drug testing - why it works.

Huge radio, TV and press coverage on publication September 1998

More truth twisting to add to the confusion 6 May 2003
By Derek Snider - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This author's "technique" for determining the truth is to take two extremes, find the "middle ground" and proclaim that as the "truth".

Everyone seems to know that "two wrongs don't make a right", that is except for Dr. Dixon.

If you want to find out the truth about drugs, I certainly do not recommend this book.

If you can locate a copy, I recommend: Licit and Illicit Drugs; The Consumers Union Report. Buy a book based on facts, not opinions labeled as truths.
